Ghanaian music duo Joshua Kojo Ampah and Andrew Kofi Cudjoe, known as Keche has opened up on the kind of treatment they got from fellow musicians. The duo appeared on the Class Showbiz with Sammy Flex and revealed the treatment from the industry acts including Kofi Kinaata and Kwesi Arthur.

Keche Joshua told Sammy Flex that Kofi Kinaata was very responsive to their approach and because they were friends, they didn’t use any formal approach. He said, “Kwesi Arthur and Kofi Kinataa are part of them. I know this will blow up. We sent him [Kofi Kinaata] music but he didn’t even respond,” he said as quoted by 3News.

According to Keche, the bond with Kinaata is an old one and it started when they performed for the “Thy Grace” singer at his event. They said they performed at the “Made In Taadi” event for a little fee. “The relationship we have with him dates back to the times when we have performed for him at his Made in Takoradi concert for a token”.

However, after convincing Kinaata to jump on a track with them, they later tried to reach out but were ignored. “I called him and I had convinced Andrew to let us feature Kinataa, he agreed but we called him like three times and he just ignored it”.

Keche just part of the industry trend

The revelation by Keche is just another story in the industry with several others having occurred before. There have been complaints from musicians about how their colleagues treated them when they reached out for collaborations.

Veteran dancehall and reggae artist Samini recently went wild and called out Sarkodie for giving him blue ticks when he sent him a song for collaboration. He went ahead to add that if Sarkodie reached out for collaboration, he won’t do it. That was part of a series of complaints from fellow artists including Edem, Kwaw Kese and Sherifa Gunu about Sarkodie.

Kuame Eugene and rapper Guru were recently on each other after Guru accused the Lynx Entertainment signee of turning down his request for a collaboration. He went ahead to release a diss track for the “Open Gate” singer.
