Musician Ras Wormz, born Michael Abembila Asampana has been honoured by the Teachers and Education Workers Union of the Trades Union Congress at the May Day celebration held at Bolgatanga. The Bongo-based musician was warded for his gallant efforts as the local chairman of the union in the Bongo district where he is a senior administrative officer with the Ghana Education Service.

Speaking to Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio after receiving the honour, the “Yeli Bibsa” hitmaker the motivation to contribute his quota to society is what brought him this far. He urged all who find themselves in whatever positions to consider what they offer to society first before what they gain such as the monetary benefits.

“Taking this award, the advice that I would give to society is that anywhere you find yourself, don’t take it like you are there for the money, but contribute your quota to change society knowing very well that, one day somebody somewhere will reward your efforts,” he said as quoted by A1radiononline.

For his prize, the “Yelkigila Maaltinga Naba” received a citation presented by the Secretary General of TUC Dr Anthony Baah and a 43-inches Samsung full HD TV.

This is not his first time receiving recognition for his stellar role outside of music as he was in 2020 the 1st runner-up of the Non-Teaching Category at the Ghana Teacher Prize Awards. In 2022, he was also honoured by the Ghana Education Service in the Upper East Region for his service to the nation.
