I was working for you – Ameyaw Debrah fires back at Mzbel

Ghanaian blogger Ameyaw Debrah has fired back at Ghanaian Hiplife artist Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, known professionally as Mzbel for saying he was on her payroll.

Ameyaw Debrah was reacting to the singer’s comments which were in response to the interview he granted outspoken media personality, Afia Schwarzenegger. Mzbel who was not pleased with the content of the interview Afia Schwarzenegger granted to Ameyaw Debrah questioned why the popular blogger gave his platform to Afia Schwarzenegger.

“How could you have interviewed Afia Schwarzenegger considering the insults she rained on you? She disrespected and said bitter things about the mother of your child, Mina. You came out crying and promised never to interview her but because you want to live a lifestyle you can’t afford, you are here going against your words,” Mzbel wondered.

She continued by reminding the influential blogger that he was once paid by her[Mzbel] and that he should have been measured in granting that space to someone who has previously said bad things about him[Ameyaw Debrah]

“You used to be on my payroll…You had to mention my name just to get views just for money. Why are you like that, why do you keep doing that? You don’t value relationships. I don’t want to say much about you because I respect the mother of your child, Mina. When you had nothing, it was Mina who was supporting you. Did I ever offend you? Afia wouldn’t have insulted me if you never asked her questions about me,” she fumed after doing a brief history of Ameyaw Debrah.

But in his reaction, Ameyaw Debrah schooled the “16 years” hitmaker by telling her when you pay people it means they work for you so there is nothing wrong with it.

“I saw a publication on GhanaWeb with the caption that MzBel said I was on her payroll. If you are on someone’s payroll, it means you are working for the person. I was working for Mzbel so if I am working for you and you pay me, I don’t see anything wrong with it,” he explained.

“If you put me on your payroll, isn’t that something that you have to say as though I wasn’t doing anything and you were paying me? I was working crazy for you, and you know it,” he noted.
