After the launch of the Buuri Malma album on December 30, BMC Rap Kowa praised everyone but had a special mention for one. He is popularly called Gonyo by friends and colleagues but born Abobire Akonge Eric. He made a promise to Kowa, to organize a concert for him at the regional capital, Bolgatanga. Information reaching us has it that the man has followed through with the first of his pledges to the rapper.
In February 2023 and just a few days after the celebration of love on Valentine Day, Rap Kowa will host his first ever concert at Bolgatanga at the Jocom Hotel. So we caught up with sources to know more about the man. The one pushing the Sirgu-based talented rapper’s career to the top.
Profile of Abobire Akonge Eric (Gonyo)
Gonyo as he is known by many, is a businessman and teacher with a Masters degree. He currently heads a Junior High School in the region.
He is a popular businessman. His main line of business is cement and soft drinks. He operates a number of cement shops at Navrongo, Paga and Manyoro. He is also said to own a warehouse at Pungu, all in the Upper East Region.
According to our sources, Gonyo also is a wholesaler of soft drinks and operates a couple of retail businesses in that line as well.
As we have reported earlier, the date for the big event has been set and the venue also ready. All roads lead to Jocom at Bolgatanga on February 17. It is expected to be a huge gathering of music lovers and musicians when the day finally arrives.
