Ghanaian musician Michy has revealed that she intends to go into politics later in her life. She, however, gave one weird reason why she thinks politics is her next destination after music.
Mitchy who recently released a new song titled, “Hustle” said part of her reasons for desiring to venture into politics is her desire to serve people. Aside from that, her motivation is also the financial benefits that come from politics.
“I do have goals that is why I am going to school now. I have several goals in the future and it wouldn’t include doing this [music] for my 40s, my 50s. Hopefully, we can go into politics,” she told Kwame Dadzie on the Showbiz A-Z show.
According to Michy, politics is the best job in Ghana at the moment and she wants to benefit from it after retiring from music. “That’s[politics] literally the best job in Ghana at the moment,” she stated.
Also, Michy said besides getting loads of financial benefits from politics, it is a gateway to more opportunities as well as a prestige-adding venture. “It gives you a certain status in society that opens doors for you that might not be open to anyone. So it is for the status, and the opportunity to help other people.”
Meanwhile, Michy, known in private life as Michelle Diamond Gbagonah, revealed that she is one of the highest-paid Instagram influencers in the country. Miss Gbagonah who had 614,000 followers on the social media app said she did marketing in school and is using the knowledge from there to make money as an influencer.
“I attended Wisconsin University and did marketing. I am using that. I am an influencer. I don’t want to brag but I am one of the highest-paid influencers on Instagram. I am not the bragging type and you will never know. But influencing is where I am applying the marketing.”
