Assin Central MP and a leading contender for the NPP flagbearer role, Kennedy Agyapong has in a brutal show of honesty said one thing no one would have expected he would say about ex-President John Mahama. The outspoken NPP man revealed that he has reflected and realized that he has been terrible to Mr Mahama who has been good to him all along.
Speaking on Starr FM, the main contender to De Bawumia in the NPP flagbearer race said he has said bad things about Mahama and spoken very harshly about him. He, however, said he now knows those things were really bad to say and he admits the mistakes because he is human and can make mistakes.
“The way he has handled me and how I have spoken harshly to John Mahama, I think I have not been fair to Mahama. He is such a wonderful man,” he confessed.
Adding, “I apologize, I am a human being. I think I recount my relationship with him and all that I want to say is I am sorry.”
Kennedy Agyapong has emerged as a tangible force to stop Vice President Dr Bawumia’s run for the Presidency in 2024 with the long-time Assin Central MP securing a second-place finish at the Super Delegates conference. If he is able to beat competition from Dr Bawumia and the other contenders at the primaries in November, John Mahama would be the main block to him ascending to the highest seat of the land on January 7, 2025.
