Fact: John Logie Baird made first public demonstration of TV

Today in history, Scottish engineer John Logie Baird demonstrated the first ever working live working television in public.

John Logie Baird, a Scottish engineer who started working with an electrical company in his homeland before moving on to establish his own was a pioneer in the television business. He demonstrated the first live working television on January 26, 1926. Today is exactly three years less than centenary since the first breakthrough in that regard was made.

He went on to demonstrate the first working colour television system, his own invention as well as the first purely viable colour television picture tube.

Aside from those feats, he did the first televised display between London and Glasgow in 1927 and between London and New York in 1928.

John Baird who was born in Helensburgh, Scotland on August 13, 1888, died on June 14, 1946 at the age of 57 at Bexhill, United Kingdom.
