Former Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor and David Duncan, one of his assistants during his tenure leading the Stars are yet to be paid their salary arrears two years after they lost their jobs. The coach joined the team on a two-year contract but saw his stay ended four months earlier. CK Akonnor is owed $275,000 by the GFA.

Milovan Rajevac was called back for the role he once excelled in but a disastrous AFCON performance saw out the Serbian as Otto Addo was brought in on a temporary basis. However, despite the team moving on from Akonnor’s time to its third coach, the former Stars skipper is yet to be paid his arrears.

According to a Graphic Sports report which cited a source close to the ex-Kotoko gaffer, the coach isn’t begging for money but is only demanding that what is due him be paid to him.

“I am aware Milovan Rajevac who took over from Coach Akonnor but was sacked after his disastrous campaign at the last AFCON was paid all his entitlements before leaving the country,” the source stated, adding, “How can we be so cruel to our own people? It is not as if the coach is begging for some money but he is only demanding what is due him… Look at how he is being treated.”

The coach is reportedly owed $275,000, seven months from his time in charge and four months for the remaining period of his contract. He was on a $25,00 a month contract. The reports also suggest that his assistant, David Duncan is owed $10,000 in salary arrears.
