Chris Hughton is set to lead the Black Stars out for the first time since assuming the role of head coach o the national side on February 12. Against Angola, Ghana faces a side that it does not have much history against in terms of competition. The last meeting between these two sides dates back to January 24, 2010, in Luanda. Ghana then led by Milovan Rajevac beat Angola 1-0 in the quarter-finals of the AFCON en route to the finals against Egypt.
Since then so much has happened between the two sides and we look at how Chris Hughton could set up to beat the Central Africans.
Head to Head
As stated earlier, their last date against each other was in 2010. Prior to that, they have met on five other occasions and Ghana triumphed on two of those occasions. Two of those encounters ended in draws with Angola winning one.
With Mohammed Salisu the only injury concern in the team, we expect Chris Hughton to field his possible best XI. Talking about that, here is our prediction of how Ghana will line up in Kumasi this afternoon.
Goalkeeper: Jojo Wollacott
Defenders: Dennis Odoi, Daniel Amartey, Alexander Djiku and Gideon Mensah.
Midfielders: Thomas Teye Partey and Abdul Salis Samed
Wingers: Jordan Ayew and Joseph Paintsil
Strikers: Inaki Williams and Kudus Mohammed
