Former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko midfielder Emmanuel Osei Kuffour has called on Black Stars captain Andre Ayew to leave the team and pave the way for younger players.

According to the former Ghana international, Andre has been with the national team for a long time and it is time for him to exit. He said the exit of Ayew will pave the way for youngsters like Kudus Mohammed and Kamaldeen Sulemana

“Andre Ayew is done with the Black Stars and should be shown the exit in order to open doors for emerging talents like Kudus Mohammed,” he said as quoted by Footballghana.

“Dede Ayew has been with the Black Stars since 2008, and it’s time to leave. Kudus Mohammed, Kamaldeen Sulemana, and others also need the space to show us what they have,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Osei Kuffour has okayed the presence of Jordan Ayew in the team claiming the Crystal Palace striker still has a lot to offer. He said Jordan still has some time left with the national but Andre has already fulfilled his call and should leave.

“His younger brother Jordan is there and still has something to deliver, unlike Dede, who has fulfilled his responsibilities with the senior national team. He needs to leave and make way for others too.”
