Tottenham appoints Ange Postecoglou as new head coach

Tottenham Hotspur has begun their revival journey with the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as the new man to take charge at the Tottenham Stadium in North London. The Celtic boss replaces Italian Antonio Conte on a permanent basis following the club’s decision to part ways with the Italian with a few matches to end the season.

A statement by the club on Tuesday said, “Now that the season and all domestic cup competitions have concluded, we are delighted to announce the appointment of Ange Postecoglou as our new First Team Head Coach. Becoming the first Australian to manage in the Premier League, Ange will join us on 1 July on a four-year contract”.

Daniel Levy, the Spurs chairman has expressed confidence in the Australian manager who began his career with South Melbourne and has Melbourne City, Brisbane Roar and the Australian National team in the long list of teams he managed.

“Ange brings a positive mentality and a fast, attacking style of play. He has a strong track record of developing players and an understanding of the importance of the link from the academy – everything that is important to our Club. We are excited to have Ange join us as we prepare for the season ahead,” Daniel Levy said.

Ange Postecoglou has led Celtic to another domestic double after winning the Scottish Super League and the Scottish Cup. His time in Scotland has seen his stock rose as he became a target for some top European clubs.
