Mozambique plots to exploit Jordan Ayew and Inaki Williams

The head coach of the Mozambique national team, Chiquinho Conde, has explained their plan to beat the Black Stars. According to Conde, his side has identified the weaknesses in the Black Stars set up to exploit. He specifically pointed at Jordan Ayew and Inaki Williams as two experienced players his team will seek to exploit.

Despite losing heavily against Cape Verde in their last match and sitting bottom of the group, Mozambique has almost the same chance of qualifying as Ghana. The scenario makes the match an open one that either side could win. Anything other than a win will ensure both teams exit the competition early.

Speaking ahead of the crucial match, Coach Conde said, “Our observers and technical staff have already identified strengths and weaknesses in the Ghana Team. We know their strength is in individual performances. Ayew and Williams have experience but they have weaknesses we can exploit to win.”

Meanwhile, Black Stars Coach Chris Hughton has advised that the team does not dwell on what happened in 2021. Ghana exited the competition in the group stages after placing last. Speaking in the pre-match presser ahead of the Mozambique match, the Black Stars coach said the past can only serve as a guide.

“With regards to what happened two years ago, some players are here, some are not. Players get used to in their careers bouncing back from defeats and try to put what is in the past in the past,” he said at the pre-match press conference.

“When you concentrate on what happened in the past, you will let it affect your preparations. We appreciate the past but we are only thinking of what is ahead, which will be a tough match,” he stated.
