Rapper Sarkodie has revealed that he did not intend to have the response to Yvonne Nelson’s explosives in her book “I Am Not Yvonne Nelson” released. He said the track was leaked and he just decided to put it out to the public. Sarkodie said this while in an interview on the Way Up in the United States.
“I did it just to hold on to it and see if I’m going to release it, but when it came out, I said let me just put it out,” he said.
According to the BET award winner, he did not intend to release it but only did it to keep hold so he can decide later. He said he, however, saw that late in the night social media was going crazy with the song already so he decided to make it official. He said after the song was leaked he knew about three people he could suspect but he didn’t want to do it since it could cause friction so he decided to release the song instead.
“Where I was, it was very late, like 2:00 am, and then I saw Twitter going crazy. I had no idea because I didn’t give it…So I have like 2, 3 people that I don’t want to suspect because it’s going to create some energy.”
What Happened?
Sarkodie was mentioned in the explosive book by actress Yvonne Nelson which was launched in June 2023. The actress said she got pregnant with the superstar rapper in 2010 but the rapper didn’t want to keep the pregnancy so she aborted it. She said after driving her to a clinic for the abortion procedure, she was left alone as the musician did not come back for her nor call to check on her.
That disclosure kept Sarkodie trending on social media for days and the rapper responded but not in a book but with what he knows how to do best. In the track titled, “Try Me”, Sarkdodie urged Yvonne to tell the entire story while adding that he initially thought she was good until he realized she was for the streets.
