Reese Witherspoon and Jim Toth split after 11 years

American actor and producer Jim Toth and Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon have announced the “difficult decision” to divorce. This comes just barely three days before their 12th wedding anniversary.

In a joint statement on Friday, the couple announced their intentions to move apart while saying their biggest priority is their son.

Reese Witherspoon shared the news of their decision in an Instagram post. “We have some personal news to share,” she posted.

Continuing, she said, “It is with a great deal of care and consideration that we have made the difficult decision to divorce,” they said. “We have enjoyed so many wonderful years together and are moving forward with deep love, kindness and mutual respect for everything we have created together.”

“Our biggest priority is our son and our entire family as we navigate this next chapter,” they added. “These matters are never easy and are extremely personal. We truly appreciate everyone’s respect for our family’s privacy at this time.”

According to the People, a source close to the couple disclosed that they are the best of friends so the decision is an amicable one.

After 11 years of marriage, the couple has one son together, Tennessee James Toth. Tennessee was born on September 27, 2012. He is the third child for Witherspoon who had two other children Ava and Deacon with her ex-husband Ryan Phillipe.

There had been no indications of this coming and at least so quickly as the couple has shared some good times together in recent times.

Just as recently as December, Reese Witherspoon shared a photo of the family together and she captioned it, “Wishing all of YOU a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours! 🥰”. In that picture was Reese, Jim Toth, their 10-year-old son Tennessee, her 23-year-old daughter Ava and her 19-year-old son Deacon.

Also as recently as January, she shared a photo of her with her husband and their son at the beach. She captioned it, “Welcoming 2023 !☀️ Let the sun shine in!”

“They really are the best of friends and this is such an amicable decision. They are so committed to co-parenting together. They are invested in their whole family and making this as smooth as possible for everyone,” the source said as quoted by the People.
