US-based Ghanaian actor and comedian Michael Blankson has stated that there are only four superstars when it comes to music in Ghana. According to him, Ghana is not like Nigeria where there are superstars everywhere.
According to the Showtime in Harlem star, only Shatta Wale, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy and Black Sherif are global stars in Ghana. He thus sees them as the only superstars in Ghana, leaving out heavyweights such as Samini, M.anifest, Gyakie, King Promise, Kidi and other stars in the Ghana music industry.
“Nigeria has all the stars. Nigeria is like the New York of music in Africa and Ghana is like the Dubai of Africa I can only count about four superstars in Ghana. We have Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Black Sherif,” he told the Drink Champs podcast.
The comedian who recently launched the Michael Blankson Academy at Agona Nsaba said he is on his way to making the fifth superstar in Ghana. “I want to make Gambo the fifth star and that’s why I signed him,” he stated.
