A founding member of the New Patriotic Party, NPP, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has said that Alan Kyeremanten has resigned at the wrong time and can’t win the elections as an independent candidate. Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe who has been very critical of the party and its current crop of leaders said Alan Kyeremanten stayed too long in the Akufo-Addo-led government. That he said has taken away his appeal from the youth as they can no longer trust him as a leader.

“Winning an election as an independent candidate will be a huge problem for Alan because all the appeals that he has made particularly to the youth will not wash. The reason is quite simple, he has been with the Akufo-Addo’s government for almost seven years. The time that Alan should have left that government, he didn’t,” Dr Nyaho explained.

According to the veteran politician, “Alan should have left the government particularly when he realized the rot going on in the party. That would have automatically turned him into a leader in the future but he didn’t do that.”

Also, Dr Nyaho claimed the party is now controlled by selfish and greedy people which makes it unattractive and very distant from its core principles. He said tribalism, arrogance and incompetence have also tickled well into the core of the party.

“If we were running our party like it is done in the USA or Britain, these things would not have happened. Our party is full of selfishness, incompetence, tribalism, arrogance, and greed and that is what has brought us here today. Our part was not like this years back or else I would not have been part of it,” he told Citi FM’s Eyewitness News.
