Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on electorates to vote for Ernest Yaw Anim, the NPP candidate in the Kumawu bye-election. He said a vote for the NPP candidate will mean a no to intermittent power outages popularly called “dumsor”.
Dr Bawumia was speaking at the NPP’s final rally in the constituency ahead of the bye-election to replace the late Philip Basoah.
“Vote for the NPP’s candidate to go to parliament to bring development to the constituency. The NDC should know that we haven’t forgotten the dumsor era. Do you want us to experience dumsor again?”
Also speaking at the rally was President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo who said Yaw Anim is the right man for the job. He urged the constituents to vote for him to represent them in Parliament.
“The replacement for Philip Basoah is handsome, humble, and kind-hearted and is ready to serve you. He has united all members of the party in this constituency. Ernest Yaw Anim deserves to do the job. He’s number one on the ballot paper, place your thumb on where you see him, we don’t want any deceptive candidate“.
Four candidates are running for the vacated seat with two of them being independent candidates. The NDC is represented by Kwasi Amankwah. The independent candidates are both named Kwaku Duah but one uses a dove as a symbol while the other uses a hoe.
