Black Stars goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott is set to miss the Black Stars game against Angola after he sustained injuries during training on Tuesday.
The shot-stopper got injured during training at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi when the movable goalpost fell on him. The extent of the injury has been confirmed to not be a very serious one. He is said t have suffered from a soft tissue contusion and has been cleared to train on Wednesday.
According to a publication by the GFA, the goalkeeper is available for selection after he was cleared by the team’s medical team. He is said to have been given emergency treatment after the incident and there are no further medical worries to bar him from the squad.
Jojo Wollacott missed out on joining the team in Qatar for the World Cup when he suffered an injury that ruled him out of the global showpiece. He was, however, with the team in Qatar though not included in the playing squad.
In his absence, Lawrence Ati-Zigi who had been heavily criticized by the supporters took charge and delivered well to the admiration of the team’s supporters. Many now think he is a good bet for the number position and Wollacott’s injury may not be a huge blow to the team.
