Jennifer Lopez returns to thrilling action in The Mother

American actress and singer Jennifer Lopez is returning to thrilling action movies very soon with the screen goddess starring in The Mother. The Netflix thriller is set to go live on May 12 following the release of the official trailer days ago.

Directed by New Zealand’s Niko Caro with a screenplay by Misha Green, Andrea Berloff and Peter Craig, the film stars Jennifer Lynn Affleck as The Mother. Omari Hardwick features as William Cruise with Joseph Fiennes as Adrian Lovell and Gael Garcia Bernal as Hector Alvarez. Lucy Paez is playing the role of Zoe, the daughter of The Mother.

Jennifer Lopez plays the role of a deadly assassin who comes from her hiding to protect her daughter whom she had left years ago. The daughter has been kidnapped by dangerous men from whom Jennifer Lopez is going to try to save her daughter.

Filming of the movie took place on the Spanish island of Gran Canaria where Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was used as a town in Cuba. The Gabinete Literario, also located in the area was used as a casino.

The Mother is a story by Misha Green and is produced by Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas, Jennifer Lopez, Benny Medina, Misha Green and Roy Lee as well as Marc Evans and Miri Yoon. It will be distributed by Netflix.
