There is currently an ongoing exchange of words between some members of the Great Olympics side and their former midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu. The ex-player has subsequently threatened to spill more if the club survives the relegation battle this season.
But what is actually the problem and why now? The seeming feud started when the Communication Director of the Ghanaian club granted an interview to Max FM and mentioned the player’s name.
According to Saint Osei, Agyemang-Badu was a disruptive figure in the team as he selected matches he wanted to play. He said the former Udinese and Black Stars midfield enforcer was interested in playing against big teams such as Kotoko. That he said caused a player revolt at the club as other players protested.
“Agyeman-Badu was picking and choosing the matches he wanted to play. Agyemang-Badu chose to play Kotoko because it is a big club. There was a player revolt because he was picking and choosing the matches he wanted to play,” Saint Osei revealed.
However, in a twist of narrative, the player who won the GHALCA G6 with the Dade Boys in 2022 rubbished the claim as he explained his side of the story. He explained that his decision to quit the club was because of the club’s CEO.
“Oluboi Commodore, the CEO, is the one behind my reason to quit the club,” he told Asempa Sports as quoted by Ghanasoccernet in February. He added, “The decision by the coach to keep me playing cost him his job and this has been confirmed by four members of the technical team.”
Agyemang-Badu threatens to reveal secrets…
Following the comments by Saint Osei, Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has now added that he will expose everything that is going on at the club if they survive relegation. His decision to wait till the end of the season according to him is because of his respect for the owner, Amarkai Amartefio.
“I will expose everything going on at the club if they survive the league at the end of the season,” the former Verona midfielder noted.
Prior to his exit from the club he joined ahead of the 2022-2023 season, he played 11 matches for the club winning two Most Valuable Player awards in the process. He played all the matches in the GHALCA G6 tournament in September which the club won.
