The Police have announced that the court will determine how the GHS2.5 million from Menzgold boss Nana Appiah Mensah, Nam1 will be shared. Menzgold announced last week that the company would begin paying matured investment following years of back and forth and agitations.
As part of the process to begin payment, the money was given to the Police but the update from the Police means the payment may be delayed a bit. The Police said depositing the money at the Bank of Ghana was for the “attention of the court”. This is because there is a case by some customers of the defunct company currently before the Accra High Court.
“The said amount has been deposited in the Police Exhibit account at the Bank of Ghana (BoG) for the attention of the Court.
“The amount is part of investigations into petitions received from some customers of MenzGold Ghana Company Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Limited, currently before the Accra High Court against suspect Nana Appiah Mensah, popularly known as Nam 1.
“We would like to state that the decision on the disbursement of the money would be determined by the court,” the police stated.
