Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams is on the heels of an online news portal for allegedly publishing defamatory content about him. The respected preacher through his lawyers wrote to the news portal, ghanacelebrity.com asking it to retract its publication and apologize.

According to Duncan-Williams attorneys, the portal published an article on October 6, 2024 with the title “Duncan Williams Son Exposes Him By Revealing A Secret Conversation He Had With Pastors Concerning Dr Bawumia His Presidential Ambition”. This, according to the attorneys, is “totally contrived and false.”

The Founder and General Overseer of Nicholas Duncan Williams Ministries, Action Chapel International is demanding an apology from the portal for the false publication which was shared on social media websites including Facebook, TikTok, X and YouTube.

In the letter, lawyers for Duncan-Williams, Sustineri Attorneys said “publication” is not only “defamatory but malicious and vexatious” adding that “there was no factual basis whatsoever.” We find that the said publication is deliberately calculated to smear our client’s hard earned reputation in the eyes of right-thinking members of society and subject him to public opprobrium,” the October 15 letter stated.

The letter demanded that the portal retracts the publication and apologize within 48 hours upon receiving the letter. It also demanded that the portal makes 3 publications of the apology within the period and desist from publishing anything related to their earlier publication.
