Multiple-award winning South African actress, musician and social media influencer Dawn Thandeka King has paid a glowing tribute to her character in the DiepCity series, Thandie Jele aka MaShenge.
King played the role of Thandie Jele who is known in the telenovela as MaShenge who had a tragic ending. DiepCity is focused on disillusioned young women in high school who were forced to enter into crime just to make ends meet. The Mandla N of Black Brain Productions features other stars such as Zikhona Bali, Vele Manenje, Mduduzi Mabaso, Hamilton Dhlamini and Obed Baloyi.
The 45-year-old Lockdown star took to social media site, Instagram to share the news of her exit. “I say goodbye to yet another amazing woman, Thandie Jele aka MaShenge, it has been an honour to be a vessel to such a powerful character”.
“I hope she was able to teach through her story. Thank you @blackbrain_sa for the opportunity…Thank you to the entire cast and crew of @diepcitymzansi161. Thank you to the audience that welcomed and loved MaShenge.
“Till we meet again ♥️,” she said in the post on Instagram.
