CAF Player of the Year nominees – full list

On Wednesday, November 1, 2023, CAF announced the list of players shortlisted for its prestigious Player of the Year award. The list is part of seven other categories that were released. Top African names in football have been included for the awards ceremony which will be held in December in Morocco.

Senegal’s Sadio Mane is the defending champion having won the prize last year for the second straight year following a historic campaign with the Teranga Lions in Cameroon. He also led his side to beat Mohammed Salah’s Pharaohs to qualify for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. Mohammed Salah will be hoping to lay his hands on it for the third time while Achraf Hakimi, Sofyan Amrabat and Nigerian hitman Victor Osimhen will all be hoping to clinch their maiden wins.
