“Hello, just wanted to thank everyone for their concern and well wishes in the last 12 or so hours. Thankfully I’m recovering well and scans have shown no major damage. I’d like to also say a big thank you to Georgios Vagiannidis for personally checking in on me at the hospital. It was a tough night but I’d be back running up and down again soon,” he tweeted.

The incident happened while Baba Rahman and his team were playing against Panathinaikos in the Greek Cup semi-final second leg. His club PAOK FC won the match 1-2 but lost 6-5 on penalties after the tie ended in a 2-2 aggregate score. At the time of the incident which was in the 115th minute, his side was leading 0-2 and on the verge of qualification.
