Black Stars captain Andre Ayew has ended his stint with English club Nottingham Forest despite the club securing Premier League football for next season. Ayew joined the Reds during the January transfer window and made 13 appearances after leaving the Qatar Stars League where he played for Al-Sadd.

Though he made 13 appearances, he was limited to a substitute role which led to him accumulating just 305 minutes of football in the league. He was among the 30 signings made by the club during the season and having survived relegation by a whisker, the club must be thinking of trimming down that bulky numbers; thus the massive clearout.

Alongside the Ghanaian are former Manchester United forward Jesse Lingard who was the club’s top earner after linking up with them from United. Four other first-team players have joined the duo through the exit including Cafu, Jack Colback and Jordan Smith as well as Lyle Taylor.

Meanwhile, Keylor Navas, Dean Henderson and Renan Lodi have all returned to their parent clubs following the expiration of their loan deals. Former Tottenham right-back Serge Aurier has triggered his automatic one-year extension following a stellar campaign at the City Ground that saw him rack up 28 appearances in all competitions.
