American Professional Wrestling star Jamin Pugh, known professionally as Jay Briscoe has died at age 38, All Elite Wrestling (AEW) Founder Tony Khan announced.
Jay Briscoe who starred in wrestling for over two decades in a career that started at an early age when he joined Combat Wrestling Zone in 2001 died on January 17 from traffic collision.
“Sadly, Jamin Pugh has passed away. Known to fans as Jay Briscoe, he was a star in ROH for over 20 years, from the first show until today,” Tony Khan of AEW shared.
He added that the body will do its best to support the family.
“Jay and his brother Mark dominated ROH, reigning as champions to this day. We’ll do whatever we can to support his family. Rest In Peace Jamin.”
Jay Briscoe debuted for Ring of Honor in 2002 and wrestled at The Era of Honor Begins, Glory By Honor, Honor Invades Boston and Scramble Madness among others. He has also featured for Jersey All Pro Wrestling between 2001 and 2002 as well as again in 2005.
He died yesterday of a car accident at Laurel Delaware.
