Late Black Stars forward Manuel Junior Agogo has been remembered on his 44th birthday four years after his passing. The former Nottingham Forest and Hibernian striker died in August 2019, three weeks after celebrating his 40th birthday.
However, four years after his passing and on the day he would have turned 44, Ghanaians and his former clubs have taken to social media to recall the late goal poacher. Taking the lead was the Black Stars official Twitter handle that shared a video highlights clip of the striker with the caption, “Forever in our hearts. Happy birthday, Junior Agogo. Thank you for all the memories”.
Then Nottingham Forest, with whom he starred between 2006 and 2008, scoring 20 goals in 64 league matches, followed with their own message of remembrance. The club’s Twitter account posted, “Never forgotten. Remembering Junior Agogo on what would have been his 44th birthday”.
Some other football lovers took to Twitter as well to remember the CAN 2008 star who died in 2019 after recovering from a stroke.
