Dr Pushkin returns for SXSW 2025

After a successful debut in 2023, Ghanaian rapper, Paul Azunre also known as Dr Pushkin will return to global stage in Austin, Texas for SXSW 2025. Slated for March 7-15, 2025, South by Southwest 2025 will feature two acts from Africa including Dr Pushkin.

Taking to social media to share the exciting news, Dr Pushkin reminisced his previous appearance while giving hints about what to expect in March 2025. While some details are still unknown about his traveling party, some names are marked as certain to accompany the “No Go Go” hitmaker to Austin, the capital of the 28th state of the United States of America.

Included in the powerpack traveling contingent for SXSW 2025 are Quata Budukusu with whom he has delivered many amazing tracks. Ataman Nikita would also get the chance to perform with his brother on one of the world’s biggest stages and tell the world about his debut “Enigma” single. CJ Biggerman is in the bus already and will get the chance to tell the world how good it is to “Just Watch”. Meanwhile, just like Budukusu, Alex Aggie and AZA will make a return to the stage once again with Dr Pushkin after the supported him in his maiden appearance in SXSW 2023. Wyldthang will also be part and would have a chance to perform “Winning” with him alongside Budukusu.

The “Empty Grave” hitmaker hinted there would be more on the train to Austin with him. In announcing the news he said, “Woah. I am among the First Round picks by SXSW for their 2025 Music Festival, the Largest Music Festival in the World. One of the only two African Acts listed, and the only one representing African Rap and GH 🇬🇭 🤔

“I guess when you work hard, some people notice. Thank you SXSW – I am excited to be back. The last time our show was highlighted as ‘Essential’ by the Austin Chronicle. This time it will be bigger and better. Trust me. I am bringing along the cream of the crop…”

Meanwhile, the Tesfaye Taye Gebeyehu /Yaho Ethiopian Cultural Band from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia will also represent Africa at SXSW 2025. Tesfaye Taye is noted for making tuba cultural music accessible more than 38 ethnic groups. His work has taken him to at least 8 other African countries while taking him outside the continent to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

ATTENTION: Dr Pushkin scheduled release of his latest single No Easy which features King Ayisoba and Gingsen is today. The instrumentals for the track have already been released ahead of the main track and could be streamed via No Easy Instrumentals.
